Pop Art!!
The Pop Art Assignment was by far my favorite and I kind of went over the top with making them. :) What I liked most about this assignment was being able to have fun with colors and different ways of making my face look artsy. I really enjoyed working with all these different styles of Pop Art and I felt like this style of art really fits my personality. The artists that I learned about and was most inspired by were Roy Lichtenstein and Shepard Fairey. In this project I learned how to use the Pen Tool, pathes, lots of layers, different types of coloring tools and more types of filters. The hardest part about this assignment was deciding how to do the hair. for some reason I just have a hard time deciding what to do for the hair... But other than that, I really enjoyed having fun and being creative with this assignment.
Mythical Beasts
I
really enjoyed this assignment because it was fun being able to try to combine
things that weren't meant to be combined. During this assignment I learned how
to use the Healing Brush, the Clone Stamp Tool, and how to make an eye. We did
not learn about a particular artist. We were supposed to combine a non-animal
object with an animal. The image right above is the tutorial that we did using
mangos. The hardest part of this assignment was finding images to use since we
had to use ones that were labeled for reuse. After I found the images I wanted
to use, however, it was not very difficult to be creative and combine the
images in fun ways. Over all, I really liked being able to have fun with this
assignment.
Landscapes
This
assignment was the landscape assignment. We first were supposed to make an
image in Corel Painter. Then we had to take that picture and Auto Van Gogh it.
Then we had to take the image and make it more painterly. We then had to make a
more surrealist image in Photoshop. In the Photoshop image, the bottom one, the
river was originally melted chocolate, the grass and hills were shag carpet,
the sky was an opal, and clouds were cotton candy, and the trees were
pineapples. With this assignment, I learned how to use various tools in Corel
Painter like the Water Rake and the Airbrush. In Photoshop, I learned how to
use different types of filters. I also learned how to adjust the hue,
saturation, and darkness of images. Additionally, I learned how to use the liquefy tool.
The hardest part of this project was making the look realistic. During this
assignment I learned about such artists as Vincent Van Gogh and Salvador Dali.
The main movement that we learned about was Surrealism. We also learned
about creating a foreground, middle ground, and background. What I really liked
about this assignment was messing around with colors, filters, and blending
tools.
Color Wheel
This
was the Color Wheel assignment in which we experimented with primary,
secondary, and tertiary colors, tints, shades,
tones, analogous colors and complementary colors. We did this
assignment to see which colors went well together and to get inspiration for
colors to use in our Landscapes. There wasn't anything particularly difficult
about this assignment, but I did enjoy blending the colors together. This image
was made in Corel Painter.
Spacescapes
For our first assignment, we created Spacescapes using first Corel Painter and then Photoshop. In Corel we learned the basics of using different types of brushes. In Photoshop, we learned how to use shape tools, filters, burn, dodge, effects, and how to wrap things around planets. I also learned how to take an image and make it into a 3D shape. The hardest part was just learning how each of the tools worked. It was also sometimes difficult figuring out how to color the images so that they looked aesthetically pleasing. With each of these I tried to use dramatic lighting, coloring, and composition. My favorite image is the top one, which was done in Corel Painter, and the bottom one, which was done in Photoshop.
